Attorney Priscilla Lord Faris Runs For Senate

Recently, Priscilla Lord Faris had the courage to back up her convictions by running in the DFL 2008 primary election.  She had just 7 weeks to make her mark and within days of announcing, the campaign attracted amazing volunteers who contributed time, energy, experience, money, ideas, marketing and public relations assistance.

Priscilla garnered 30% (75,000) of the vote, which showed her message was resonating with Minnesotans.  Lord Faris and her supporters affected the political process in the same way Lord & Faris affect the justice system.

January 2009 Letter to Supporters...

Dear Clients and Friends,

Throughout my legal career I have been privileged to help people who have been injured or harmed in some way receive the support they need and deserve under the law.  It was in this same spirit of public service to the Minnesota community that I declared my candidacy for the United States Senate last July 15.

Though we did not prevail in the September DFL primary election, more than 62,000 Minnesotans – 30 percent of voters – agreed that I was a better choice than the endorsed DFL candidate to represent Minnesotans at this critical time.   That we were able to attract such significant support in a little more than six weeks and on a shoestring budget is proof that the people of this state believed their voice was not being heard amid the cacophony of negativism that characterized the 2008 Senate campaign.  Another two weeks and I’m convinced we would have been victorious.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to talk to so many of you as I toured the state and campaigned at the Minnesota State Fair in the weeks before the primary.  So many of you told me, “Keep going, Priscilla.  We need someone who represents our Minnesota values and can mediate solutions across both sides of the aisle.”  For those of you who volunteered time, donated money or just stopped by our booth to express your support, a great big THANK YOU!

So where do we go from here?  This campaign confirmed that, more than ever, Minnesotans need experienced advocates in politics and business who can act on their behalf when they or a family member or loved one have been harmed or injured.  To that end, I intend to redouble my efforts to serve clients in the areas of personal injury, medical device and pharmaceutical injury, medical professional licensing, sexual abuse and harassment, discrimination, and Social Security claims.

Will I ever run for office again?  Perhaps.  All in all, it was a wonderful experience.  But one thing is certain:  My commitment to serving your legal needs is unwavering.   I truly appreciate your business and friendship and wish you the best in 2009.

Very Truly Yours,

Priscilla Lord Faris
