NuvaRing is a hormonal contraceptive ring device manufactured by Organon, Schering-Plough, and Merck. Its components are ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel, a metabolite of desogestrel, a possibly dangerous progestin. Approximately 1.5 million women worldwide use this device.
