Jury of our Peers:
The Jury System Still Functions Effectively
A.When our Founding Fathers wrote the United States Constitution, they constructed a legal system that allows both criminal and civil trials to be presented to a jury of peers who have the power to ultimately decide the outcome of the case. Their role is to assist the judicial branch of the government to enforce the laws of this land. This was considered to be a very special safeguard to avoid potential judicial misconduct. In the past, sitting on a jury has been considered to be a great honor. Jurors have served for centuries with the knowledge that their role was of great value to the justice system of America.
